I don't know about you but in my mind - if you want to be PRESIDENT you should at least make the EFFORT to be ON TIME to events. After all, being President is not a life of leisure. Obama signed up for this and spent MILLIONS to get there and now he shows total DISRESPECT in my mind for the office of the President of the United States.

In this article on Fox News, a Democratic apologist, Mark Lindsay, says Obama is late because he is helping people.. Yeah right.. he's having just one more toke on the old cigarrette or even worse, he just doesn't know how to plan his time. Even funnier, Mark Lindsay says BILL CLINTON was habitually late for THE SAME REASON.

Mark Lindsay, a Democratic consultant and former senior White House adviser to Bill Clinton, disagreed, explaining that Clinton was late sometimes because he was making accommodations for logistics or average citizens.

"I would make the opposite observation," Lindsay said. "I would say that taking time to accommodate your schedule to regular citizens is not an act of arrogance. It's an act of humility."

Lindsay, who was the assistant to Clinton for management and administration, said Bush was not known for having the same level of engagement with regular people.

I wonder if those average citizens were female interns in the case of Bill Clinton?

Now I don't like to be someone who throws stones when they live in a glass house because I am habitually late for things BUT I AM NOT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES EITHER.  If I am late for lunch with friends or relatives, it's not the same thing as being late for a nationally televised bill signing.. Doesn't even COMPARE.. sorry.

Is he going to be late when he is to meet with foreign leaders as well? How is that going to sit with some of these foreign dignitaries one wonders?

I did a google news search for more stories on Obama's lateness habit and guess what? Fox News is so far the only place reporting it.. Once again.. the mainstream media choose what to report on and they are ignoring stories like this because it seems they have all become Obamatrons.  Objective reporting has gone completely down the toilet in this country.

Here we go, found one tiny mention in this story from a publication in the Phillipines:

President Arroyo managed to see US President Barack Obama in Washington, but only from a distance

Obama was a guest speaker at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Hilton Hotel in Washington last Thursday, which was attended by Mrs. Arroyo and other visitors from around the world. The keynote speaker was former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, with whom Obama chatted.

Palace officials, explaining why President Arroyo had decided to proceed to Washington from Bahrain, had earlier said the breakfast meeting could offer a chance for her to talk with the new US president. But yesterday Malacañang sang a different tune.

Deputy presidential spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo, who was with Mrs. Arroyo in Washington, said Obama arrived late for the event and had to leave soon after he gave his speech.

Mrs. Arroyo was seated at table number one with Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.

I was struck by the fact that Obama was running about half an hour late for the event. He didn't apologize for the late start, either. I'd like not to believe that's how he values others' time.
